Against the backdrop of the deepening Belt and Road Initiative, WESDUN successfully delivered high-quality ultrasonic water meters and prepayment water meters to Uzbekistan in October 2023. This cooperation has helped address local water metering challenges and speed up the digital transformation of the country’s water sector.

Project Background: Urgent Need for Water Sector Upgrade
Uzbekistan, a key Central Asian nation, prioritizes water management. It invests heavily in water infrastructure but faces persistent issues. These include aging pipelines, low meter accuracy, and inefficient manual reading. Its “National Water Resource Registration System” launches in April 2026. In 2023, local authorities urgently needed high-precision smart water meters. These meters required intelligent management capabilities too. WESDUN became core supplier with strong tech and overseas experience. It delivered the products in October of that year.

Customized Solutions: Two Core Smart Products
Tailored to Uzbekistan’s specific requirements, WESDUN offered an integrated solution focusing on ultrasonic and prepayment water meters.
Ultrasonic Water Meters: High Precision & Adaptability
These meters use advanced time-difference measurement technology. They have Class 2 accuracy, a wide range ratio (R500 for positive flow, R400 for reverse flow), and a low starting flow (1L/h), which can effectively detect micro-leakage. Designed to withstand extreme temperature changes (-25℃~+55℃), they comply with international standards (such as ISO 4064-2014) and local certifications (GOST-UZ, CE), ensuring smooth customs clearance.
Prepayment Water Meters: Transparent Charging & Efficient Management
The prepayment meters use a “pay-first, use-later” model and support both online and offline recharge. They can transmit data remotely and allow real-time monitoring, seamlessly connecting to the national water resource system. This model greatly improves meter reading efficiency, reduces operational costs, and solves the problem of unpaid water fees.

Smooth Project Implementation: Compliance & Professional Services
WESDUN closely managed the entire project process. It efficiently obtained GOST-UZ certification and ensured fast customs clearance through Uzbekistan’s “Single Window” system. After the delivery, a professional technical team was sent to provide on-site installation, commissioning, and training.
Project Achievements: Win-Win Outcomes
The meters have been deployed in multiple regions and delivered remarkable results: the pipeline leakage rate has dropped by over 15%, the water fee collection rate has risen to 98%, the work efficiency of water authorities has improved by 40%, and manual meter reading costs have decreased by 60%. Local water authorities highly praise WESDUN’s products and services.

Future Outlook
This project is an important milestone for WESDUN in the Central Asian market. Moving forward, WESDUN will continue to focus on the local water sector’s needs, strengthen cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and contribute to improving global water resource efficiency and digital transformation.
