  • Excellent performance at low flows: Mount the propeller-type impeller vertically and support it with a tungsten steel tip. This structure enhances the water meter’s wear resistance and reduces friction resistance.
  • Strong anti-fouling performance: Built-in stainless steel water strainer, eliminating the cost and trouble of installing a separate filter.
  • Online detachable structure design minimizes water meter maintenance to the lowest level. The water meter can work normally even in poor water quality conditions. If necessary, you can pull out the entire movement on-site to quickly clean out debris.
  • Wide measurement range: The propeller impeller features an outer diameter larger than the nominal diameter. It withstands higher flow rates and delivers excellent low-flow performance, greatly widening the range ratio to an actual 200 times.
  • Long service life: The large impeller uses a low-speed design and rotates slowly. All rotating parts adopt wear-resistant materials, ensuring long-term stable metering performance.
  • This meter greatly reduces straight pipe section requirements upstream and downstream, making installation much easier in narrow spaces.
  • The wet liquid seal structure has clear readings, good sensitivity and is anti-magnetic. It also features a magnetic drive dry structure. You can fit it with direct reading remote transmission and signal transmission components to produce direct reading remote water meters and signal transmission water meters. Customers can customize them according to requirements.

Selection/ installation and Use

This is the Selection/ installation and Use drawing for the Woltman vertical installation type dry-dial water meter.
  1. Select the water meter diameter according to the flow rate at the installation site, not just the pipe diameter. You may choose the water meter caliber based on the pipe diameter as long as the flow does not remain large continuously over the long term.
  2. Install necessary straight pipe sections or equivalent flow rectifiers upstream and downstream of the water meter. Follow the U10D5 requirement. Ensure the upstream straight pipe section is at least 10D long, and the downstream section at least 5D long (D is the nominal diameter of the water meter). Install a rectifier before the straight pipe section if 3D elbows or centrifugal pumps create flow rotation.
  3. Before installing new pipes, be sure to clean the stones, sand, hemp and other debris in the pipes before installing the water meter to avoid water meter malfunction. Generally, there is no need to install a filter.
  4. The water meter must be installed horizontally, otherwise it will affect the accuracy of small flow. When installing, pay attention to the consistency of the water flow and the direction of the arrow on the water meter case. Valves should be installed upstream and downstream of the water meter. When the water is first passed, be sure to open the valve slowly and open it completely when the pipe is full of water.
  5. If necessary, install a bypass next to the water meter to maintain uninterrupted water supply while you remove or install the meter.
  6. If you install the water meter on the boiler inlet pipe, prevent hot water backflow from damaging the meter.
  7. Please note: For 150mm and 200mm water meters, multiply the displayed wheel reading by 10 to get the actual reading. The dial is marked “X10”.
  8. For water meters larger than DN100, reserve suitable channels to move the meter to its working position or remove it. Also, leave enough space around the working position to install lifting equipment.
  9. When you do not bury the water meter, leave at least 700 mm of free space above the meter and its associated pipes.
  10. To protect the water meter from pipeline impact and vibration, eliminate all potential vibration sources before installation. Install flexible joints on the pipeline if necessary. For DN150 and DN200 water meters, use soft cushions to isolate the base and fixtures from the foundation.

Common water meter faults and solutions:

  • Water output drops significantly: this may result from low water pressure or a clogged filter screen. Clean the water meter and filter.
  • The water meter stops working: foreign matter may be stuck in the impeller, or parts may be worn or damaged. Replace the water meter parts if needed. Only qualified personnel can handle these faults and recalibrate the meter before you install and use it again.
