Selection/ installation and Use

- It is recommended to determine the type, metering characteristics and caliber of the water meter according to the working conditions of the water supply facility. Its expected flow rate should be compatible with the Q1 to Q3 flow rates of the water meter.
- The water meter must be installed according to the instructions on the water meter dial: “H” indicates horizontal installation, “V” indicates vertical installation, and the direction of the arrow on the meter case is consistent with the direction of the water flow in the pipeline.
- Install plugs or stop valves upstream and downstream of the water meter, install straight pipe sections of sufficient length and the same diameter according to the requirements of U10, D5 (10DN, 5DN) to ensure accurate measurement.
- If necessary, a filter can be installed between the upstream valve and the straight pipe section, and a check valve can be installed between the downstream straight pipe section and the valve.
- The water meter should be prevented from being damaged by the impact and vibration of the surrounding environment of the installation site.
- Avoid excessive stress on the water meter caused by pipes and fittings. If necessary, the water meter should be installed on a base or bracket. The upstream and downstream water pipes should be properly fixed, to ensure no part will be displaced due to the thrust of water when the water meter is removed or one side is disconnected.
- The pipe installation should leave the necessary length for the water meter connection. When the distance between the pipes at both ends exceeds the length of the water meter, the pipe distance should be corrected to meet the water meter connection length. Otherwise, forced installation will cause the water meter threaded connection end or pipe joint or connection nut and connection flange to break and be damaged if the distance is too small. The water meter cannot be installed. If the pipes at both ends of the water meter are not on the same axis, other methods should be used to correct the pipes to be on the same axis to meet the installation requirements of the water meter, otherwise the above phenomenon will also occur. In order to compensate for the length error in the installation of the water meter and facilitate the disassembly and assembly of the water meter, it is particularly recommended to use an expansion joint of the corresponding caliber downstream of the water meter with Q3≥16m3/h.
- The pipe should be flushed before installation to prevent stones, sand and other debris in the pipe from entering the water meter.
- In order to ensure the water meter to work for a long time, the water meter should always be filled with water.
- It is recommended that the water outlet be more than 0.5m higher than the water meter.
- Measures should be taken to prevent adverse hydraulic conditions (cavitation, surge, water hammer) from damaging the water meter.
- The water meter should be protected from exposure and freezing, anti-freezing measures should be taken during freezing. Water meters should be protected from damage caused by corrosion from the external environment.
- During long-term use, water meters should be periodically calibrated according to local requirements. If there are debris, rust and other sediments in the pipe that block the water filter and affect accurate measurement, Recalibration is required by designated department . Users are not allowed to repair water meters at will.
